Our Mission

Man of Distinction is the first of the Mens stores for owner Kristin Halpape - following in the distinguished footsteps of two successful ladies consignment stores.  The first of the two stores launched in Okotoks, AB in 2005 - Rhoda's Elegance...Again. The second opened its doors in 2012 in the spot Man of Distinction Calgary resides today. After an opportunity to expand the woman's store, Expressions Ladies Consignment moved just a few doors down.

What is in store
What do you carry?

All brands, sizes, styles are welcomed - however, we do try to stock the store with styles that are more fashionable and items we know will sell.

What items do we consign?

Shoes, belts, ties, sweaters, shirts, pants, jeans, jewelry, hats, etc. We carry small through to larger sizes.

We have a diverse understanding of our client base and are very familiar with the brands and sizes that sell most often, our team will give preference to these items. We also take into consideration our store stock and may not accept items we have an abundance of.

We're social

The best way to get an idea of the type of clothing you can bring is to look through our social media and follow us online to find out about our promotions.

Consign with us
What is consignment?

Consignment means you place your clothing items with us to sell for you. Once your items are sold you can either take a store credit or walk away with the dollars you've earned.

How does this work?

Bring in your gently used clothing anytime during business hours, set up an account and we will assess what we can place on the floor for sale. Anything that may not make it either goes home with you or is donated to charity.

How do I get paid?

Once your items have sold, you will receive 40% of the sale value in your account. You can contact the store of visit the location you dropped off your items at and use this money as a credit or cash it out at any time.

Which brands can I bring in?

We believe in carrying quality brands and brands that our current clients are looking for. This includes accessory items as well as clothing and footwear.

When do I bring items in?

We do our best to stay on a seasonal rotation but with men's clothing, some items are multiple seasons. We ask that you save specific seasonal items until they would be used to maximize their sale and money in your account.

Spring/Summer items are accepted from January until July

Fall/Winter items are accepted August until December

Common questions:
Do I need to make an appointment to drop off my clothing?

No. If you have like-new fashions that you wish to sell, simply bring your items to our store. Our friendly staff will then evaluate them and let you know what we will accept.

Should I bring clothing on a hanger?

No. We prefer that you bring your items in a bag or a box. We will lightly steam all clothing for proper presentation before it goes on the floor up for sale.

How do I check the dollar amount on my account?

Simply call or come by the store you dropped your clothing at, one of our staff can help you. Your money will stay on your account until you use it or take it. Your money will not expire.

How do I know if my clothes are ok?

We are always accepting new or like-new fashions, items should be:
- Designer or high-end fashions and accessories
- Current style
- In very good condition with little sign of wear
- Clean. We cannot accept items that have stains or odours
It is also important to note that we accept items on a season schedule:

What if my items don't sell?

We do our best to highlight all of our customer's clothing and offer sales and promotions to encourage additional sales. If your items do not sell within 3 months, they will be donated to charity to further help those in need of quality clothing. Sorry, we do not have an option for pick up.
